Our Time, Testing and Technology curriculum area comprises the subjects of Computing, History and Science.
Understanding Britain’s part in the development of our modern world is of equal importance to understanding the responsibility that this brings. We develop the children’s resilience to investigations, exploring new ideas and working cooperatively to produce quality outcomes which have a purpose.

Computing
Computing is concerned with how computers and computer systems work, and how they are designed and programmed. Computer science fosters creativity and teaches students critical thinking skills to become proactive learners.
Our Aims
To develop children’s computer literacy
To be prepared for a future that will include IT computers
To understand the limits of computers and the opportunities
To understand what is safe use of the internet and when to inform an adult
To be able to apply taught knowledge and skills across the rest of the curriculum
To be able to access learning materials at home and at school

History
History is the study of change over time, and it covers all aspects of human society. Political, social, economic, scientific, technological, medical, cultural, intellectual, religious and military developments are all part of history.
Our Aims
To inspire our children about the world in which they live
To understand reasons why the world changes
To understand similarities and differences in key historical events and to know that we can learn from mistakes made
To understand the impact of humans on each other and the world
To help children to understand important events around the world
To help children solve problems and ask questions

Science
Science is a means of improving our knowledge and understanding of the universe based on the collection of observation-based evidence.
Our Aims
To develop an enquiring mind that observes, asks questions and draws conclusions
To understand how the universe works and how everything is connected
To develop investigation skills
To understand how processes work
To think about the future and how science will impact on their futures
To inspire future scientists!
