Visitors In, Visits Out!

At St  Lawrence’s, we have  made a commitment to all our children to provide as many different opportunities as we possible can while they are with us.  Some of the visits and visitors we ask for donations from parents, others the school funds.  We believe that all our children should have equal access to high quality experiences that will stay with them and enhance their learning.

Young Voices 2024

Our Young Voices Choir had a great time taking part in the largest children’s choir in concert in the world at Sheffield Arena in February.   The children sang their hearts out alongside all the other children and had an amazing day!

On their return, the children did a fantastic Musical Showcase so our Young Voices Choir could perform to family and friends.

Kingswood 2024

The Year 6 children have just returned from Kingswood Outward Bound Centre at Dearne Valley in February 2023.  They have all loved every minute of it and had a fantastic time.

Have a look at the photos below to see the exciting opportunities they had.

Ugandan Refugee Story

In march we were delighted to welcome Shamim Eimaan who gave an assembly and workshop on the Ugandan Refugee’s.

It is 51 years ago when Idi Amin, the leader of Uganda, expelled people of Asian descent from the country. The story gave inspiration, hope and a wider understanding of how these refugees rebuilt their lives in York.
